The community of Palm Harbor is located in North Pinellas County. It is a largely residential community with several concentrations of commerce. Notably, downtown Palm Harbor cultivates a charming atmosphere with dozens of small shops and eateries along with a handful of historical buildings. With over 59,000 residents, Palm Harbor covers 17.9 square miles of unincorporated Pinellas County and it contains over 30,000 homes and businesses.
There are 11 public schools in Palm Harbor: Palm Harbor University High School, Palm Harbor Middle and Carwise Middle Schools, Curlew Creek, Cypress Woods, Highland Lakes, Lake St George, Ozona, Palm Harbor, Palm Harbor Community, and Sutherland Elementary Schools, as well as 10 private schools.
The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Nature Park in Palm Harbor is a volunteer run rehabilitation haven for primates.
Within the community of Palm Harbor, there are two wonderful golf courses: Highland Lakes and the Westin Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, one of the premier golf destinations in the United States.
The Pinellas Trail runs through the Palm Harbor community between the towns of Tarpon Springs to the north and Dunedin to the south.
